we are more than mere shadows on the cave wall—we motion alone
for they sit so very still with their backs against the cold clammy stone
faces parallel to the denouement of our lives—we know ceci n’est pas
“THE END” that chains them to un film, but a faith in the shadows of
their visions, writhing on the wall
