A dovecote, put simply, is a cubby for birds. A little hole, a personal space among others of a kind. This is how I imagine the poems we are collecting here at Dovecote—a place for your little birds to call home. These are birds of all sorts, from the contemplative and solemn to the jovial and drunk. We collect them all. What matters most is that these excellent poems find their place to sing. I cherish each and every one of these poems and I hope you do too.
